Could you become a Friend of St Margaret's Gallery?
The lack of affordable, city centre places to exhibit has brought together many local makers and artists with the singular mission to establish a space that could be hired out affordably and allow local artists and makers to exhibit and sell their work.
St Margaret's Gallery has emerged from this collaboration, and is establishing a reputation as an affordable Norwich exhibition space. We are now a registered charity (no.1214861) and the St Margaret's Gallery trustees have secured a long term lease on St Margaret's Church on St Benedict's Street.
Keeping the hire rates affordable ensures a diverse programme of exhibitions which are free to enter for visitors. Accessible exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops and talks, as well as a growing number of Friends and volunteers are contributing to the growth of a new creative community centred around St Margaret's Gallery.
But we need regular financial support if we are to maintain hire charges at an affordable level. We are applying to whatever appropriate grant funding we can find and are running events such as the 50% for St Margaret's week to help cover our rental shortfall. But we would be in a far more secure situation if those who support our aims could offer us regular or one-off financial assistance.
So we are asking for one-off donations or a regular commitment, no matter how small, to help us meet our monthly outgoings.
